Jiamusi University (JMSU) is located in Jiamusi, a charming city in Heilongjiang Province of China. The university was founded in 1947, and after 60 years of development and construction, it has found its way into the list of key universities to receive special support from Heilongjiang Government.
The university, covering an area of 1.5 million square meters with the construction area of 950,000 square meters, has five school districts and a Hi-Tech Park, twenty-six colleges, a department directly under the university and sixty-nine research institutes.
International Culture Exchange Center (ICEC) starts to enroll the foreign students at 1991, till now they have already brought up over 800 foreign students. The First Affiliated Hospital of Jiamusi University was founded in 1946. And since 2005, ICEC began to cooperate with Basic Medicine College and Clinical Medicine College to enroll medical professional students and adopt all English-teaching by using pure English teaching materials. Currently, there are more than 300 international students studying in this major from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Somalia, Canada, the United States, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar, Nepal etc 22 countries. Through academic exchanges, the Center maintains good relationships and collaborates with hospitals and institutes in America, Britain, France, Germany, Finland and Japan as well as Hongkong and Taiwan.
The clinical college-The First Affiliated Hospital of Jiamusi University (FAHJU) is a modern, large-sized and comprehensive teaching hospital directly under the Health Department of Heilongjiang Province. It was granted "A-1 Hospital in 3-grading System of Hospitals" by the Chinese Government in 1994, and was awarded "Model of Provincial Civilized Unit" by Heilongjiang provincial government in 2002. It has 43 departments of medical treatment, 11 departments of medical techniques and 1600 in-patient beds. Its Out-patient Department and Emergency Department can receive and treat 500,000 man-time patients annually. The FAHJU occupies acreage of 27,000 square meters and its buildings have a floor space of 77,000 square meters. With total assets of more than 0.2 billion RMB Yuan, FAHJU has such large-sized and modern medical equipment as SP-CT system, ECT system, C-arm X-ray machines, Central Cardiac Monitoring System, and Endoscopic systems.
Jiamusi University is recognized by WHO and the graduates of MBBS program are eligible to take the Medical Licensing Examinations held by the medical councils in different countries such as MCI, PMDC, USMLE, HPCSA, SCHS etc.
