Crimea State Medical University is one of the oldest Medical School in Ukraine. The history of Crimea Medical University dates back to the start of the 21st century. Earlier it was referred to as medical faculty of Taurida University in year 1918. In 1931 the institution was separated and started functioning as autonomous unit - Crimea Medical Institute. In year 1995, in honor of Sergey Ivanovich Georgievsky (rector of the institute in 1951-1970) it was named CRIMEA STATE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY. In 1998 the higher school was transformed into university with the 4th (highest) accreditation level. Since the foundation the medical school has consistently proven and delivered good academic results. Crimea Medical University has been a center for academic and vocational medical education and medical science in Crimea and Ukraine and at the same time offered specialized course in the field of General Medicine and Pharmacy.

Climate in Crimea :

There is a clearly defined change of seasons during the year. The winters are long but relatively warm, with frost and snow. In the Ukrainian Carpathians it lasts 120 - 130 days, in the north of Crimea - 75 - 90 and not more than 85 days on in the far south and southwest (influenced by the warm air currents from the Atlantic and the Mediterranean). Spring starts when the average temperatures cross zero degree Celsius, but frosts are still possible. Spring first touches the southwest and Crimea and it makes its way north from the south in approximately 37 days. The summer starts when the temperature reach 15 degree Celsius and is warm in most regions, hot in Crimea. The temperatures can reach 34 - 39 degree Celsius when the air currents from Africa reach Ukraine through the Mediterranean.

Hostel facility :

The university have hostel on campus. The rooms are shared by 2 - 3 person. Students are not allowed to go out after 8 pm without permission.
