Zhejiang University (ZJU) is a comprehensive national university founded in 1897. It is directly under the administration of MOE and is one of the key universities firstly listed in the "Project 211" and "Project 985".
ZJU is located in the renowned historic and cultural city, the world famous tourist attraction-Hangzhou, along the southeast coast of China. Dating from the 1912, Zhejiang University School of Medicine now includes 8 faculties, 6 Grade III Class A hospitals affiliated hospitals with 7,700 beds and 23 Grade III teaching hospitals. The total number of staff members and medical and nursing workers has reached over 10,000, including 568 full professors and associate professors, 212 doctoral mentors and 663 master mentors, and also one member of China Academy of Sciences, three members of China Academy of Engineering, five Cheung Kong Chair Professor.
The School of Medicine has 4 national key disciplines, one state key laboratory and 15 provincial and ministerial key laboratories. The discipline of Clinical Medicine ranks the 7th in China with the Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatric and Oncology as key national disciplines.
